Stephanie Hilton
I have always been quite passionate about art— painting, drawing, and creating for as long as I can remember. Living and working in NYC as an advertising art director for many years gave me the opportunity to visit museums frequently, and my love for painting really grew from there. I have studied at the School of Visual Arts in NY, the Silvermine Guild of Artists in CT and continue to study at the Rowayton Arts Center. I’ve painted murals, furniture, ceramics and fabric, but these days I mainly paint with watercolors. Using photos from both my daughters’ and my travels, some favorite spots include the Connecticut shoreline, the Florida Keys, Maine, Aruba and Colorado. I often incorporate natural materials like stones, shells and small pebbles into my paintings, taken from the spots I’ve visited. Additionally, I create unique 3D watercolor panels by weaving multiple paintings together as one, which are then sealed and mounted in box frames. My work has won several awards locally and been shown in a number of juried and group shows throughout Connecticut. I am proud to be an exhibiting member of the Rowyaton Art Center, Ridgefield Guild of Artists, Stamford Art Association, The Art/Place Gallery, and the Carriage Barn Art Center.
