Dave Pressler
Think of my work as -- MINDSCAPES: a Visual Journey of the Mind. Whatever the subject, whatever the medium, I ask viewers to use their minds, feelings and past experiences to explore new places and things, fresh ways of looking at subjects. I intend that my work become an extension of the viewer -- stimulating a conscious reaction. My hope is that all viewers will be transported to new places and find themselves in -- MINDSCAPES!
Generally, my work can be grouped into three categories: paintings & drawings, printmaking and photography. My photography and photo etchings reflect places and things observed. Paintings, drawings and other intaglio represent transformation of subjects into more abstract, personalized images. I always try to involve the viewer by creating compelling images that exhibit meticulous composition, strong visual focus and inherent interest.
