Julie Leff
Julie Leff is a painter who brings a vibrant, photorealistic freshness to conventional forms. “I paint for myself -- for my love of color and form – but in a way that invites others to discover the beauty I see in the world.”
From a young age, Leff’s favorite activity was creating colorful abstract paintings and drawings. As her practice developed through decades of diligence and training, her oeuvre expanded to include florals, still lifes and portraits, as well as abstracts. Using sable brushes, Leff uses her signature palette of rich, emotion-laden color which she applies in the form of oil paint on canvas.
Leff studied art at Yale University and the Silvermine Guild of Artists in CT. Her work has appeared in numerous solo and group shows at venues including International ArtExpo, New York, NY; 92nd Street Y, New York, NY; Chelsea32 Art Gallery, New York, NY; Kershner Gallery, Fairfield, CT; and Westport Arts Center, Westport, CT. Her work resides in international private and public collections including those of Barbara Walters, NY; Dick Cavett and Martha Rogers, NY; Xiaotao Pan, China; Fairfield County Hospice House, CT; Yale Child Study Center, CT; and Mirabilis Health, Ireland. Julie Leff maintains a studio in Connecticut, where she is a member of Art/Place, the Artists Collective of Westport and WestonArts.
