Previous Exhibition: Quartet
Art/Place is a non-profit, artist-run gallery that has been in existence for more than 40 years. It features a new show by one or more members every month and several group shows a year.
Art/Place Gallery invites the public to a reception for “Quartet”, the show of work by members Diane Pollack, Lynne Arovas, Mollie Keller, and Toby Michaels on Sunday, February 11 from 2 to 4 pm. The artists will talk about their work at 3 pm. The show can be seen from February 5 to March 3 from 12-5 every day at 70 Sanford Street in Fairfield. Diane Pollack: "As a printmaker I have explored various media including collage, sewing and calligraphy to create multi-layered nuanced works. I studied Sumie-e brush painting, Yoga and dance which have added to my visual vocabulary."
Lynne Arovas: “Arranging expressive designs of nervous energy in a contained, structured way.”
Mollie Keller: "The pictures in this series should really be called 'what I did on my summer vacation. The real challenge was in working four panels together."
Toby Michaels:: “Things change! So goes my artwork over the years, styles,materials, medium...now series".
