Previous Exhibition: IMPASSIONED EXPRESSIONS #2
The public is invited to see IMPASSIONED EXPRESSIONS #2- a show by our members Alice Katz and Keith Magner. The show runs from June 24-July 22, 2024 Tuesdays through Sundays from 12-5 PM at 70 Sanford Street in downtown Fairfield in the FTC Box Office Gallery.
Please join us for a reception on Sunday June 30 from 2 – 4 PM.

Art/Place is a non-profit, artist-run gallery at 70 Sanford Street in Fairfield. It has been in existence for more than 40 years. It features a new show by one or two members every month and several group shows a year.

ALICE KATZ is showing collage/paintings of her new 2 year old cat, Daphne. Daphne is very sweet and very affectionate. The artwork was created from photos taken of Daphne and combines acrylic paint, oil pastel, and papers.
Alice has been creating art her whole life. She taught art in middle school with a degree in Art Education. Her graduate degree in Counseling led to a private psychotherapy practice and being the author of books on Anger Management and on Emotional Eating.
Currently, Alice is one of the curators for the Kershner Gallery and does publicity about shows at both the Kershner and Art/Place Galleries.,She has exhibited her paper mache sculptures and mixed media paintings in many area venues.
Alice says, “In my art, I am interested in shapes and textures, and in showing the essence of a subject. I also consider the overall composition.”
KEITH MAGNER is showing his plein air paintings of area landscapes. He developed his skills studying at the University of Hartford’s Art School in the summers through high school followed by studies at Alfred University’s School of Art & Design. He has shown in juried art shows at a national and state level. He is an elected member of the Salmagundi Club in New York City.
Keith also holds an undergraduate degree in Marketing and Management Information Systems as well as an MBA. It is his passion for art that has kept Keith engaged in painting throughout his career in the interactive advertising industry.
Keith states “I strive to create work that radiates the beauty that surrounds us. Art allows me to unplug and immerse myself in my surroundings.” Many of his studio pieces are plein air works that capture the essence of a place that he is then able to express on a larger scale.
